D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education)
D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) Indiana fosters solid community relations as parents, schools and police departments work together to help the children of Indiana resist drugs and violence. Currently there are 90 law enforcement agencies across the state teaching over 34,000 children the core skills needed for safe and responsible choices.

The Criminal Investigations Division of the Shelbyville Police Department is comprised of three Units; General Investigations, Narcotics Investigations, and Cold Case Investigations.

The Public Relations Department of the Shelbyville Police Department is a vital part of the day to day interactions with the public. The PR Department handles all requests for information from the media as well as social media updates and requests.

Officers receive training in all state mandated areas every year. The Shelbyville Police Department prides itself on the betterment of each officer by offering the ability to train in multiple areas.
