Annual membership passes to Blue River Run are issued for a one year period and are valid for 365 days from the date of purchase. Memberships will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.

All members must be at least 18 years of age and present proof of current vaccinations for membership to be considered. Members are responsible for keeping their dog’s vaccinations up-to-date at all times and are responsible for keeping their records with the Shelbyville Parks and Recreation Department.

Blue River Run hours are from dawn to dusk—not to exceed 6:00am-10:00pm, 365 days per year. The Shelbyville Parks and Recreation Department, however, reserves the right to close Blue River Run at any time for maintenance or for any other reason deemed appropriate by the Shelbyville Parks and Recreation Department.

Your Blue River Run membership tag must be visible when in the park. Membership tags are $30.00 for first dog, $20 for each additional dog. Each dog must have its own tag.

Please note: accommodations for special assistance can be requested by emailing parks@cityofshelbyvillein.com for any programs or events no sooner than two weeks prior to the event date. All requests will be considered to ensure an inclusive and accessible experience for all participants.  

I agree to hold the City of Shelbyville, the Shelbyville Parks and Recreation Department, their members, directors, officers, agents, volunteers, and employees harmless from any claim for loss or injury that may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or “thing” by act of other persons, owners, guardians, and/or their dog(s) while in or upon the grounds or near any entrance to Blue River Run and I further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss of our dog(s) by disappearance, theft, damage or injury, be caused or alleged to be caused by the negligence of Shelbyville Parks Department or any of the parties aforementioned, or by the negligence of any other person, or any other cause or causes. 

I understand that the membership application system is not to establish a guarantee that dogs in the Park are safe or healthy. I also understand that dogs may act unpredictably to their environment. I assume the risk of bodily injuries, including death for any person or persons, including myself or any guest I bring with me to Blue River Run arising from the use of Blue River Run. I also assume the risk of damage to property arising out of consequence of participation at Blue River Run. 

I understand that Blue River Run is an unsupervised facility and that no agent or employees of the City of Shelbyville or Shelbyville Parks Department will supervise the off-leash area at any time and I therefore expressly assume responsibility for all risks associated with the Park as well as fixtures and equipment that may be located there in an unsupervised manner. Furthermore, I will carefully inspect the facilities and satisfy myself that they are safe, not only for myself but also for any guests that accompany me including adults and children, and my dog(s) participating at Blue River Run. I knowingly accept the risks of indigenous plants, mosquitoes, ticks, chiggers, fleas, stray dogs, and wild animals that may injure or infect both human and dog participants at Blue River Run. 

By my signature(s) below, I hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless the City of Shelbyville, the Shelbyville Parks and Recreation Department, their members, directors, officers, agent, volunteers and employees, harmless from any claim or cause of action, judgment, claim for damages by any third party, including but not limited to the payment of any judgment and the incursion of any attorney fees by any of the foregoing entities or individuals, which may arise in any way due to my presence or use of Blue River Run, its grounds, its facilities, or any other aspect of my use of Blue River Run.

• Agree to the terms within
• Have received, read and fully understand the Blue River Run Rules and Regulations (and will explain them to any guests who may attend)
• Promise to comply with those rules and regulations and ensure any guests comply as well
• Have no knowledge of incidents in which my dog(s) have shown aggression, fighting, or biting behaviors towards animals or people 
• Certify my dog(s) is (are) up-to-date on vaccinations, is parasite-free and in good health

1. Membership tags are required to enter this park. Tags may be purchased at the Shelbyville Parks & Recreation Department, 945 S Tompkins Street Shelbyville, IN 46176 (317) 392-5128.
2. No non-member dogs are allowed in park
3. Membership tag must be visible while in the park
4. Participating dogs must bear a permanent ID—either a collar tag or a microchip is acceptable
5. Dog must have updated vaccinations (DHPP, Lepto, Rabies and Bordetella) 
6. Dogs should be receiving heartworm and flea prevention treatment, be free of internal parasites, and be in good health while using Blue River Run.
7. Vicious, fierce or aggressive behavior(s) is/are prohibited
8. Spaying and neutering is recommended 
9. Dogs under six (6) months of age are not permitted. 
10. Everyone is expected to clean up after their dogs by using the waste receptacles provided
11. Two dogs per person maximum limit in Blue River Run
12. Children under 6 years of age are prohibited
13. Children ages 6-17 years must be accompanied by an adult
14. Each dog must be on a leash until they are inside the first entry gate and it is closed; dogs must be unleashed once securely inside gate
15. Excessive barking and digging are not allowed
16. No food permitted inside Blue River Run (including dog food/treats)
17. Glass containers are not allowed in Blue River Run
18. Only dogs are allowed in Blue River Run Dog Park
19. Smoking is prohibited in Blue River Run
20. The agility equipment is for dog’s use only
21. All individuals 18 years and older must have signed a Blue River Run Waiver, Release and Indemnification Agreement and a Blue River Run Fees and Rules prior to entering Blue River Run with a Member dog.

Membership Fee 

• $30 for first dog; $20 for each additional dog
• Replacement gate access key fobs are $15
  • NOTE: Only 1 gate access fob per household—no exceptions.
• Replacement dog tags are $10.
